EXTRACURRICULAR/CO-CURRICULAR
PROGRAMS
Saint
Paul School offers an after-school/extended day program. This
program is staffed by two professionals, who oversee the program,
and is designed to meet the social/academic needs of the student
and is available to students in K-1 through grade seven. Its
hours of operation are from school closing to 6 pm, Monday
through Friday. A variety of activities are provided, including
gross motor skills, computer skills (educational supportive
software), arts and craft projects, and visits to various
community designations (Duck Pond, Library, Brook Path Hiking
Trail, etc.).
In
addition, as an integral part of the program for grades one
and up is the home support component. This program is designed
to motivate the students to do their assignments under supervision
completely, correctly, and in a timely manner. There is close
interaction between the school faculty and the after-school
professionals to ensure that the students’ requirements
and needs are known and met. Parents lead after-school enrichment
programs in which they share their unique skills and knowledge.
Examples of these enrichment programs are model rocketry,
writing, and arts and crafts. In addition, parents organize
and sponsor a Ski Club.
The
school also offers the opportunity to participate in the school
band. This is a contracted service for which the parents deal
directly with the organization. Other co-curricular programs
are the six-week Organizational Skills course, and a High
School Test Preparation course offered to eighth grade students
in the fall, both staffed by faculty members of the school.
